The Crusher’s Credo
This I believe.
A Crusher is not born. He is not bred. He is not the product of his environment, nor the happy chance of fate. A Crusher is made. Self-made. He is a hard man, determined, focused, dedicated. He is a creature of passion. He has cast off the tyranny of reason in his pursuit of the impossible.
A Crusher does not balk at rain and mud; he does not fear heat and dust. He pursues his ends with a hearty and eager doggedness. He crushes, even when he is crushed.
A Crusher does not complain. He does not make excuses. He gives everything he is to the chase. He is the chase.
He grits his teeth and swears. He attacks. And then attacks again. “Shut up legs!” is his mantra. “Pedal damnit” his code.
A Crusher finds a way to finish. He finds a way to push. He finds a way.
And when the day is done, he smiles, and readies himself for the next Big Day.
A Crusher crushes.
This I believe.

July 11, 2012I thought you were only partially obsessed with this race?
Now I know you are completely obsessed with it.
I love it. See you Saturday.

July 11, 2012What a great Credo! However, when I read it, I find myself replacing all of the he’s with she’s :)!
Women Crushers Rock! Good Luck to all!

July 11, 2012I found your blog from a link to an article on Jens Voight (after watching his phenomenal attack in the TdF Stage 10).
I like your style and your writing is excellent – will become a regular visitor.
Good luck in the Crusher – it has piqued my interest (a long way from Australia)! …….Hmmm!
Cheers
