Riding a bike is a reminder that we are most happy when we are free, independent, and on the move. Bikes have changed my life, and they are changing lives for the better all over the world. Bikes have a way of knitting people together and creating friendships among opposites. They can heal wounds as well as souls.

2012 Tour of Utah (Part 1)

The 2012 Tour of Utah is over. I enjoyed chasing the madness. It’s always inspiring to see what high-caliber riders can do to our local roads. Inspiring, and depressing. Alas, that’s racing. There’s always someone faster. A lot faster. But nevertheless, having pro racing here has been really enjoyable. And I’m left feeling motivated to improve. To ride a little farther. A little harder.

I spent some time with my sons exploring some unknown territory. It was an old school trip. We ate greasy fast food. Stayed up late. And played around in the mountains. In other words, it was perfect.
