August Review
August was a slow blogging month. I was too busy out on the bike.
I pre-rode stage 5 of the Tour of Utah.
And then I snapped photographs at stage 4, in downtown Salt Lake City.
I wrote a follow-up to the river incident.
I also raced at the USCS finale, a 36-mile super-xc race at corner Canyon. I had a terrible day. Really, really terrible. But the course was excellent, as was the organization and the competition. The USCS races will be seeing me again in 2012.
I raced the Mnt. Ogden 50k for the 3rd straight year. And this year, I set a PR on course and finished 9th overall. AFter my sub-optimal day at Draper, racing well at Snowbasin was a huge confidence boost heading into the Point 2 Point. the MO50/100 is a fantastic event. This year the field was deeper than ever in both distances, and though I’ve ridden the course several times, I always seem to forget just how amazing the trails are at Snowbasin.
Mike Curiak not only continues to have amazing adventures, but continues to document them better than anyone else.
And lastly, one of my favorite photos from the month of August:
