Brewing…

160 Miles. Terra Incognita. The Dixie Lite.

A new obsession is brewing. I’ve tasted similar concoctions before, and the results were… far reaching. It’s easy to say that this batch will be nothing more than season-altering. If not downright life changing. Oh, and you’re reading that right. The “lite” version is 160 miles with nearly 19k vertical. The “heavy” route? 311 miles. 50k vert. fifty. kay. vert. Damn. Something this sadistic and wonderful could only come the mind of a man who has long since left the realms of logical rationality. A mad scientist. Hairball. Dave. In a word: Brilliant.

And now I find myself scouring this and that, and testing these and those. The obsessive gene is stirring, growing, thriving. Maps, forums, reviews. I’m digging through my own gear, checking off various and random bits: Got it, got it, got it. Need that, need those. Have them. And so forth.

Between now and then is the blink of an eye.

I’d better start riding my bike.

Dang. That is pretty epic! Some of the best views of nature in the world to take in.

Last time you pencil’d in some lines on a map I think we made it like 13 miles in 9 hours and climbed 14,000 ft 😉

Sounds a little crazy. I realize I’m talking to someone that just did the WRT in one day so crazy is a given. June 26th. You’d better stay off of those skis.
