First Turns (video)

Not everyday is about  dawn patrol or hunting for pockets of untracked powder. No, some days are all about simple and pure discovery – with the kids. My daughter jumped into a pair of skis for the first time in her life over the weekend, and took to them as if she was an old pro. During the day she kept talking about “skiing like Lindsey Vonn”. Well, frankly, I’d say she is off to a rousing start. We even conquered her first blue hill. Not bad for her first day on sticks. The most surprising part of the day was that this little girl who is normally very wary about speed and crashing and skinning her knees, showed no inhibition or hesitation or fear while on the slopes. She wanted to turn 11′s down the hill. I had to continually convince and remind her that “making S’s” was a good thing. I wonder now, just what chain of events I may have sparked into motion…

Woa dude you’ve got a regular ripper on your hands! For me, it only took one day on snow at the age of 9 and I was hooked for life!

You may not know what you’re getting into…

One of life’s greatest joys is to be able to share one’s love of the outdoors with children and grand-children. Tell her we can’t wait to join her on those slopes we know and love so much!
